What's Going On In Minnesota?

Minnesota has been seen as a fairly progressive place for the LGBTQ community. Considering it's one of the first states to add ENDA protections (in 1993), it seems a pretty fair-minded place. Lately, however, several seemingly anti-LGBTQ stories have hit the news:
What the heck is going on here? If it weren't an election year, I'd be more surprised by this. Case in point, the Catholic DVD is pretty transparent. It's apparent the same tired arguments made to pass Prop 8 have been dusted off and repackaged. If you recall, the Federal Court in the Prop 8 trial debunked all those "marriage is for the care of children" arguments in its sweeping decision (read it here). Given the backlash people are giving this DVD, this latest barrage could be a good thing to once and for all tell the closed-minded that progress and equality is at hand.
